Conferences and Seminars

A conference is a meeting of people who "confer" about a topic
Meeting of a, usually large, group of individuals and/or companies in a certain field
It is a formal event where researchers present results, workshops, and other activities.

Most CME’s are held as conferences and seminars
There is a large component of commercialized CME
Usually held at a large scale e.g. National, regional or State level
Duration may range from half day to one week
May cover a single topic or broadly comprehensive
Use of audio visual aids is frequent e.g. multimedia
